Also known as the Indian Antelope, the black buck is not only  a beautiful trophy to mount, but also makes for a delicious meal at your dinner table.   Many black bucks located on the grounds are trophy size and available year round  for hunting.

The most popular hunt we offer is white tail.  The variety of bucks located here is quite diverse.  Whether you are wanting a trophy buck, management hunt, cull buck or just a meat hunt to fill up your freezer, we have it all and prices will be based on the specific hunt requested.


turkey

Wild turkeys have made a strong come back in Texas.  With rolling plains, tall trees, and recent rainfall, the land offers favorable roosting for wild turkey.  You can strictly turkey hunt, or add wild turkey hunting to your current booking.  Bag a few just in time for the holidays.  Viva wild turkey revival!


Barbados Bucks

The Barbados Black Belly is a domestic breed of sheep from the Caribbean Island of Barbados.  This breed is primarily raised for their lean and mild meat.  We have a truly amazing  selection of Barbados that wander the hunting grounds.

Sonora Texas is home to Araujo Outfitters. We are only a 2 hour drive west from the San Antonio airport. Sonora has all the amenities you will need for a hunting getaway.  Our hunting grounds are located just a few miles outside of town.

Araujo Outfitters is a family owned and operated hunting service.  We take pride in the management of our land and animals.  All  hunting takes place on our family ranch that has been passed down from generation to generation.  The hunting land spans across 2,500 beautiful acres of West Texas.  We do not hunt our does.  The ranch is surrounded by free range, low fence lines bringing in a wide selection of bucks to hunt.  This is truly an opportunity  for a once in a lifetime hunting experience. 

All hunts are semi or fully guided.  You can choose to stalk your prey from the ground walking, or from a various number of blinds located around the property.  Many feeders are situated around the ranch at prime hunting spots.   We welcome archery hunters, black powder hunters, and the traditional rifle hunters at Araujo Outfitters.   All hunts include an assortment of homemade snacks or sack lunches at no additional cost.  We also provide cold drinks and water during your hunt.

araujo outfitter guidelines

  • You must have a current and valid Texas State Hunting License. 
  • A 50% down payment must be made at the time of booking to hold your requested hunting dates.  Cash, check or charge is acceptable for your first payment.  (Any returned checks will be charged an additional $35 fee) The final payment for your hunting excursion must be made in cash  prior to setting foot on the hunting grounds.
  • In case of an emergency or severe weather, a hunt rescheduling will be offered, however a rescheduling fee may be applied.  This will be determined on a case by case basis.
  • You will be responsible for payment in full for any animal that is wounded and not immediately killed or found.
  • A hold harmless agreement must be signed before any hunt begins.
  • Alcohol is not permitted during active hunts.
  • All hunts are partially or fully guided. Gratuity is not included in the hunting prices, tips are always appreciated.

We are proud to call our little town home. Life is slower, people are kind, and it's a great place to relax and visit.  Below you will find a few of our favorite places.  Whether you need some homestyle cooking, have the time to take in some local sites, or if you just need a place to sleep while you are visiting, we have it all.  We also have a small grocery store for your basic needs, some fun boutiques for perusing, and of course a couple of liquor stores for the much needed nightcap.  Most importantly Rough Creek Taxidermy and Processing is located in the heart of town and is a short drive from the hunting grounds.
